On the occasion Tihar 2069 , we RC Patan Durbar Square and twin club RC Mahaboudha jointly played the
Duesi-Bhailo at various residences of the Rotarians.

Matya First Aid Camp 2069

Continuing the tradition of providing first aid and medical relief to the Matya Devotees, Rotaract Club of Patan Durbar Square jointly organized Matya First Aid Camp with Rotary Club of Patan Durbar Square during Matya Festival at Lagankhel on 4th August 2011. The Matya First Aid Camp project was co-ordinated by Community Service Director Rtr. Rohit Bajracharya and actively supported and volunteered by both past and present members of the club.

Matya is a Budhhist Festival of Lights which is celebrated in Patan to commemorate the attainment of enlightenment by Lord Budhha and his victory over Mars, the evils who tried all means to prevent Buddha from attaining enlightenment. The Festival is a day long journey about the stupas and chaityas in Patan which begins at eary 4:00 am and ends at 6:00 pm and participated by thousands of people from the Kathmandu valley. The Matya First Aid Camp at Lagankhel was hugely successfull. During the camp, the club provided drinking water, glucose and Jeeval Jal, first aid services of providing band-age, pain-killer sprays, energy-rich vitamin E and Becomin tablets, cetamols etc to hundreds of Matya Devotees. Also, more than 50 people benefited from massage services provided by the camp.
